"We must design our buildings as an extension to our living environment to foster an understanding of human dignity and responsibility to each other."

E&E Architects International Limited is a London based Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Chartered Practice with many years of experience in the design of Education, Community, Residential buildings and Urban design. Our team have established a track record of innovative design across a broad range of projects in the UK, Europe and the Middle East, covering new build, rehabilitation, work to historic buildings and urban planning.

Our Office was formed by Mustafa Erdem in 2013. https://uk.linkedin.com/in/mustafaerdem

Our experience in residential and housing covers a wide variety of homes from private one-off houses tailored to the specific client and contextual needs, to large scale housing and mixed-use schemes.

Our current projects also cover a large scale of care homes for elderly people.

In the education sector, our experience ranges across the whole spectrum of primary, secondary, tertiary, specialist teaching and higher education facilities.

We also provide value-added services to independent private schools.

In the community field, we specialise in providing strategic advice to voluntary and community organisations and helping them to formulate their ideas in order to obtain funding for their building needs.

Personal service, and the support of an excellent network of specialist consultants, ensures a fully integrated service. We also offer a full project management service.

We have the knowledge and the commitment to designing buildings in a more sustainable way. By integrating ecological building principles into a project from the onset, buildings can benefit in many ways. Thermal comfort, natural lighting, energy efficiency (and therefore cost), can be improved while creating healthy living and working conditions.

We also aim for responsible material and component specification, considering all impacts during their lifecycle, i.e. during the manufacture, transportation, construction, maintenance and disposal.

As part of our services to local authorities, we sat on Islington Council, Lewisham Council and Hackney Council Design Review Panels, which provide expert impartial design advice and guidance to council's Development Management Services on significant development proposals and other design-related matters.

Our buildings are based on ecological principles and we are active in the field of urban regeneration. E&E Architects Awards include;

EducationInvestor Awards Finalist 2015-2016-2017-2018 and 2019

Sustainability

Within the context of social, economic and environmental sustainability, e & e architects aim to design buildings in a responsible way.

Building construction and use account for up to 50% of CO2 emissions. The need for the Construction Industry to respond to some of the larger environmental issues of today, such as CO2 emissions and Global Warming is great. As architects, we believe that we are well placed to help bring about changes.

We aim for responsible material and component specification, considering all impacts during their lifecycle, i.e. during the manufacture, transportation, construction, maintenance and disposal.

We can calculate SAP energy ratings, and produce sun-path diagrams and animations.

We stress the need for a life-cycle costing approach, and we are developing post-occupancy feedback tools to enable our clients to achieve the best value.

Resources

The practise has recently invested in new computer hardware and software to ensure that we are up to date with the latest technology. We are predominantly a Macbased office, but we also use PCs.

We use Vectorworks for 2D drawings as well as BIM, 3D Studio Max, SketchUp and Photoshop for presentations, 3D visualisations and animations, and produce in-house high-quality images and animations. Microsoft Office Suite is used for administration and for document management.

We have our own Quality Management system that has been developed in house, which provides a full suite of utilities for project and office management. As a RIBA Chartered Practice we also have access to the RIBA's Quality management toolkit.

Our library is extensive and is kept up-to-date and organised. Stocked with trade and technical literature, brochures, reference books, specialist documents and journals, we are able to keep abreast of developments across the construction professions and industry. Being a multi-lingual office (English, German, Turkish, Spanish and French) we keep documents in different languages.
