This neglected estate is located about 10 minutes walk from Archway tube station in North London. Improvement measures include landscaping by Groundworks and a new Community Centre.
Together with the Fairbridge Estate Tenants Residential Association and the Elthorne Housing Task Force, we have developed a brief for a single-story building on an unused estate play court next to a derelict factory.
The center is to be a welcoming and sustainable building and will include a green roof and solar panels. It will house a multi-purpose hall for mother-toddler groups, pensioners clubs, meetings, etc. The brief includes a social space for relaxing and communication.
